RCA Evolution M27PG135F Review – 240 Hz Gaming Beast With Productivity Prowess

Introduction
The legendary American electronics brand RCA just launched its “RCA Evolution” gaming monitor line. The lineup currently consists of only two M-series monitors, both equipped with 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) Fast IPS panels with claimed 95% DCI-P3 gamut coverage, with the main point of differentiation being their refresh rate and, accordingly, the price. The so-called Standard variant (M27SG35F, $299) of the monitor offers a 165 Hz refresh rate, while the Premium flavor (M27PG135F, $429), boasts a 240 Hz refresh rate, making it a more interesting option for hardcore gamers.
RCA provided me with the 240 Hz variant of their first gaming monitor, so that’s the one this review focuses on. Although the less expensive model should in most aspects, other than refresh rate, be the same, I haven’t had an opportunity to test it, so I’m unable to verify if that’s really the case. An extra $130 is a hefty price to pay to upgrade from a 165 Hz to a 240 Hz panel, but the M27PG135F tries to justify the price hike by offering some useful extras, such as the integrated KVM switch, and a USB-C port with DP Alt Mode and 90 W Power Delivery support, which transforms the monitor into a practical docking station for modern laptops.
