Two months ago, I was telling you about the two Ampere cores on which Nvidia bases, at least for now, the entire RTX series 2080. Thus, GA 102 is the breath equipped with 84 of SMs, ie 10752 shader processors, 280 Tensor colors yes 48 RT cores, from which RTX 3090 were derived ( SM) and RTX 3080 (68 SM) and we may see other models soon. The second core, GA 104 (48 SM) was introduced about a month ago via RTX 3070, this being equipped with 48 by MS, that is 5888 shader processors, 102 raster operations processors, 184 Tensor cores of the third generation and 11 RT Cores of the second generation.
As expected, GA 102 gave birth to a model, probably the most important so far in the entire RTX series 3000, named Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Why do I say the most important? Well, although the reputation is gaining in the high-end segment, manufacturers fighting for supremacy with monsters that not many consumers can afford, the truth is that the bulk of sales is represented by mainstream models. That, of course, if there is enough stock.
And Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 You are the mainstream of the RTX series 3000, which promises to bring all the goodies specific to the series, respectively higher performance than RTX 2080 SUPER, for a price similar to what I saw when launching RTX 2060 / RTX 2060 SUPER. Or at least that’s the theory, it remains to be seen what wonderful surprises we will have in terms of price in the case of this launch.
However, until we actually see the boards in stores, today we have the task to see what RTX looks like 3060 You, but especially why she is capable in practice. Because in the end, our job is not to analyze prices and availability, but, obviously, performance.
