Seasonic Focus GX – 550

Seasonic Focus GX is the successor of the Focus Plus series (released in 2017 – a review of the model W you can find here), this benefiting from improvements over time from engineers – a an example in this sense is the removal of capacitors mounted on modular cables. Like any refreshed product, changes to the design line, accessory package and terminology naturally followed the manufacturer’s overall strategy to align with the OneSeasonic Initiative concept.

Basically this concept aims at simplifying the names of the series, so that the user receives as much information about the product only from the name: “Focus” being the series of which the product is part, “G” representing the efficiency of the source, ie Gold, X ”Refers to the modularity of the cables – in our case the source is completely modular, and“ 550 ”refers to the power of the source. You got the idea.

This series consists of five models, and we received the smallest version for testing, but the offer also includes variants of 650 W, 750 W, 850 W si 1000 W. Regardless of the series model, we benefit from the option of operating the fan in a fanless mode up to a load of 501% as well as 10 years warranty, as we are already accustomed to Seasonic for their sources in the Focus range. New methodology, new tools, let’s get to work!
