Introduction

Established in 2006, ROCCAT is a peripherals company based in Germany. Following the Kone Pro Air and Burst Pro Air, the Kone XP Air is the Kone XP made wireless. Much like on the others, PixArt’s PAW3370 sensor is used, coupled with ROCCAT’s optical Titan switches rated for 100 million clicks. Wireless operation is possible either through 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth, the latter allowing for battery life of up to 100 hours. Compared to the Kone XP, the RGB lighting no longer extends to the main buttons, but there are still 29 button functions in total present, made possible by the shift button functionality. Furthermore, the scroll wheel still can be tilted to the left and right, allowing for horizontal scrolling. Configuration is possible within ROCCAT Swarm, which also has support for macros and multiple profiles, along with the ability to configure the RGB lighting to one’s liking. Heat-treated pure PTFE feet are used, coupled with a flexible charging cable. Alternatively, the included charging dock can be used, which also acts as a wireless extender and features RGB lighting. Though not mentioned on the ROCCAT site, the Kone XP Air is also compatible with NVIDIA Reflex when in wired mode. The Kone XP Air is available in either black or white.
