More details about the unannounced GA102 based SKU from Nvidia have emerged. Based on the shared specifications, the new SKU seems to be a cut-down RTX 3080, created to take over the segment where the Radeon RX 6800XL will land.
We already covered some of the alleged specifications of the new Nvidia SKU, which will supposedly deliver more performance than the RTX 3070, but less than the RTX 3080. The same leaker that shared the first specifications of the new SKU has now detailed some more, giving us a better idea of what we might expect from it.
As per @kopite7kimi, this new SKU is “an emergency product for 6800XL”. The Radeon RX 6800XL is the name reported by @KittyYYuko for the Navi 21 XL-based card. The Navi 21 XL is expected to be a cut-down Navi 21 GPU with 72CUs and a boost clock of over 2.0GHz.

Regarding the details about the new Nvidia SKU, we already knew that it should feature the GA102 GPU with 58 streaming processors, paired with 10GB of VRAM on a 320-bit bus. The new details include the board code (PG132 SKU 35) and the memory type and TGP, which will be the same as the RTX 3080, featuring 10GB of GDDR6X memory and a 320W TGP.
If this Nvidia SKU really exists, we can expect to learn more about it after AMD has announced the Radeon RX 6000 series later this week.
KitGuru says: Will you wait to see if Nvidia announces the RTX 3070Ti before buying a new graphics card? Given these specifications, what kind of performance are you expecting from this SKU?
