Not long ago, we shared the news that AMD is planning to introduce four new SKUs to expand its Ryzen 5000 series lineup, including the Ryzen 7 5800 and the Ryzen 9 5900. At the time, there wasn’t much more information about these processors besides the TDP. Fortunately, we now have the first rumoured specifications, which includes the cache and maximum stock clock frequencies of both SKUs.

The rumoured specifications were shared by @momomo_us, which stated that the 8C/16T AMD Ryzen 7 5800 CPU will feature the same total cache (36MB) and core configuration as its X variant, but the maximum boost frequency will be 100MHz lower (4.6GHz). The 12C/24T Ryzen 9 5900 will follow suit, offering the same amount of core, threads, and cache (70MB), but the maximum boost clock will also be 100MHz lower (at 4.7GHz) compared to the Ryzen 9 5900X.

AMD hasn’t confirmed the availability of the non-X Ryzen 5000 SKUs yet, but rumours claim that these processors will only be available for the OEM market, leaving the X variants for DIY customers. Additionally, we also have heard rumours about the Ryzen 5 5600, which is expected to release in early 2021, priced at $220.

AMD will hold a keynote on January 12th, at CES 2021, so it is possible we will hear more about these SKUs very soon.

KitGuru says: Do you think AMD will restrict the non-X variant of the Ryzen 5000 SKUs to the OEM market? Would you rather buy the non-X Ryzen 5000 SKUs over the X ones?
