It seems that this year is going to be quite a busy year in terms of OLED screens, and although we have seen some products during CES 2021 that had OLED panels, including some futuristic concept, now it is the turn of Samsung Display , the division of Samsung in charge of developing and manufacturing screens, to present their new OLED panels.

According to what we can see in the company’s presentation video, these new panels arrive with a thickness of only 1mm , something that also gives them a much lower weight than standard panels , with a weight of 130 g for the example proposed by Samsung .

In this same example, we can see how the screen-to-chassis ratio would grow from an average of 85% up to 93% for the company’s new OLED panels , a fact also motivated by the possibility of incorporating the computer’s webcam behind the screen , as we have seen in terminals such as the ZTE Axon 20 5G

In any case, it is unknown when we will be able to see these screens in final products, because today , Samsung only offers us this video created by computer, probably in the absence of a final product ready to display.
