Currently, LCD technology dominates the TV market, although from year to year TV models based on OLED matrices are also becoming more and more popular. None of the existing technologies are perfect – both LCD and OLED have their strengths and weaknesses. Next year, we expect an increase in the availability of LCD models based on Mini-LED backlight (including Samsung). We know, however, that the Korean giant has been working on Micro LED technology for several years, which is to be the biggest competition for OLED, at the same time devoid of the greatest shortcomings of organic panels. Quite unexpectedly, Samsung today presented 110 – an inch TV based on this technology. The company confirmed that the first consumer TV set will go on sale in the first quarter 2021 of the year.

Samsung prepared 110 – inch TV based on Micro LED technology. Its price is currently unknown, but the equipment will go on sale in the first quarter 2021 of the year.

Two years ago, during the CES in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to visit the Samsung stand, where the so-called “The Wall”, that is huge – close 220 “- screen based on Micro LED technology. Unlike OLED, Micro LED uses inorganic LEDs characterized by much higher brightness and greater durability to burn-in. This technology eliminates the most important disadvantages of OLED matrices. So far, however, the manufacturer has not introduced consumer models for sale. Today, the company showed a new TV based on a Micro LED matrix. The device was simply called “Micro LED 110 “inches”, which also shows how big the screen is this time. It is much smaller than “The Wall”, but still very large. with 4K Ultra HD resolution – it will be perfect for new generation consoles and the most efficient computers based on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 and AMD Radeon RX 6000. Currently, the manufacturer has not confirmed the presence of HDMI 2.1 ports, but we cannot imagine this type of novelty? they wouldn’t be there.

Samsung Micro LED 110 “is a frameless TV – the body to screen ratio is impressive 99, 9%, which gives the image a completely different depth. The manufacturer also declares a long lifetime of the panel, which is to be 100 thousands of hours. The TV is also equipped with a 5.1 audio system. Additionally, the TV has the Object Tracking Sound Pro (Object Tracking Sound Pro) function, which identifies objects moving on the screen and directs the sound so that it seems to “follow” their movement. So when in the film you are watching an airplane flies over the protagonist, the viewer will get the impression that the machine’s engines are roaring above his head. Coming back to the matrix – it offers Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color coverage at the level of 100%. Unfortunately, the price is still unknown, but Samsung declares that sales will start in the first quarter 2021 of the year. I am very curious if the manufacturer will show even smaller Micro LED models at the upcoming CES, which will be ready for retail in 2021.
