Everything indicates that for 2021 several new products were also prepared by the Korean manufacturer. The company has registered the name Quantum Mini LED for upcoming TV sets. We still do not know when the panels using Micro LED technology will go into mass production. Samsung, in turn, is also trying to introduce TVs with a Mini LED backlight.
Samsung has registered the name Quantum Mini LED TV. The Korean company intends to present a new line of TVs using Mini LED backlight. The addition of Quantum itself means that the manufacturer can further increase the parameters of this technology.
Let’sGoDigital stumbled upon Samsung’s trademark Quantum Mini LED, registered a few days ago. Registration was made in Australia and the mark is for televisions. It seems that the Korean manufacturer is already very close to the official presentation of a new generation of TV sets that will use the Mini LED zone illumination. It is still not a Micro LED, but with a large number of independent lighting zones, the end result may be more than satisfactory. There will be support for a wide range of colors, and HDR itself will achieve a very high level. The addition of Quantum itself may also mean the introduction of a more packed version. Is it simply a processor for processing materials of inferior quality, or the use of quantum dots – we will certainly get to know more details at the CES 2021. This is when Samsung presents its new products for the next year in the TV segment.
This year, the manufacturer presented 75 – an inch Micro LED panel, which works on a similar principle to OLED. The difference, however, is the use of inorganic diodes, with much higher durability and brightness. However, due to problems with mass production of smaller panels, we still do not know when this technology will appear on the TV market. Mini LED is referred to by many as a kind of transitional solution until Micro LED technology goes into mass production.
