As happened a few weeks ago, Sigma announced a number of new firmware and updates for several of its products. Among these we find both new firmware for lenses, adapters, software and also for the mirrorless fp camera (fortissimo pianissimo). Here are all the news and what the changes have been.
The news of Sigma for the various products
Starting right from the camera Sigma fp , upgrade to version 2. 03 leads to some bug fixes for improve the use of this product. In particular there will no longer be the bug where the REC trigger does not work when using a gimbal via USB and an external monitor-recorder connected with HDMI. Then there is the resolution of the problem related to the detection of the panning that did not work correctly on the Lumix S Pro lens 70 – 200 mm F2.8 OIS when the switch was set to MODE2. And finally fixed the bug concerning a problem with the Russian language. No new features have been added.
The news for lenses and adapters
The lens firmware has also been updated Sigma 35 mm F1.2 DG DN Art for Sony E . In this case the new version has been improved the focus on the few occasions when it does not work when set to AF-C.
As regards the objectives Sigma for Canon EF , the models received a new firmware 28 mm F1.4 DG HSM, Art, 70 mm F2.8 DG MACRO Art, 85 mm F1.4 DG HSM Art e 135 mm F1.8 DG HSM Art. Thanks to the update there is an improvement in performance viewfinder exposure with EOS 90 D and EOS-1D X Mark III . Furthermore the optics 30 mm F1.4 DC HSM Art for Canon EF has new firmware to improve performance with EOS 90 D .
New firmware also for the Sigma lens 120 – 300 mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Sport with SA mount . In this case the operation of OIS mode 2 has been improved when using the optics with the MC adapter – 21 SA-L.
There are also some firmware updates for the adapters. For example the MC – 11 SA-E works correctly with the 120 – 300 mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Sport and the MC – 11 EF-E is now compatible with 30 mm F1.4 DC HSM Art, 28 mm F1.4 DG HSM Art, 70 mm F2.8 DG MACRO Art, 85 mm F1.4 DG HSM Art e 135 mm F1.8 DG HSM Art, all for Canon EF and all with the latest firmware available.
Finally, the software has also been updated Sigma Photo Pro 6.7.5 which now supports macOS 11. 0 (Big Sur) for Apple systems that with version 6.7.4 was incompatible. This update is aimed at fp, sd Quattro, dp Quattro, SD and DP cameras. The Japanese company specifies that operation is not guaranteed on systems with Apple Silicon.
