Page 1: Small, but powerful: Pebble v3 from Creative in the test

With the new Pebble 2.0 speaker system, the manufacturer Creative presents its USB-C speakers, which are now in the third generation, inspired by the Japanese Zen rock garden. In addition to USB connectivity, the current version of the system also has control via Bluetooth 5.0 and an AUX-In connection. Due to the corona pandemic and the use of numerous notebooks in the home office, users are looking for small boxes that do not take up too much space on their desks at home. For this reason, Hardwareluxx took a closer look at the new Creative loudspeaker and subjected it to a test.

Thanks to the multiple connection types, the Pebble v3 can not only be used in combination with a USB device, but also with a Smartphone or an MP3 player. However, the power is supplied exclusively via the 1.2 m long USB-C cable. Creative recommends a USB interface with 10 W. The speakers can be positioned at a distance of up to 1, 35 m be placed in the room. Thanks to the included adapter, users are also able to operate the Pebble v3 with USB-A devices. There is also a high-gain / low-gain switch on the bottom. In addition to the already mentioned USB-C to USB-A converter, the scope of delivery also includes the speakers themselves and instructions.
