Source: Hardware Luxx added 20th Oct 2020Soundcore, which belongs to the well-known charging equipment manufacturer Anker, presented a new one with the Life Q 30 Over-ear headphones with active noise canceling and a battery life of up to 40 hours before.
The new headphones are the next generation of the Soundcore Life Q 20 – model, which also already has active noise canceling and a long battery life. Both aspects are said to have been improved in the new model. According to the manufacturer, the new Life Q 30 absorb up to 95% of annoying outside noises and should enable an undisturbed music experience. The audio drivers for the headphones have a diameter of 40 mm and consist of a silk membrane. The frequency range should extend up to heights of 40 kHz. For comparison: Most of the headphones in this segment only manage 20 kHz. In addition, the device is certified for high-res audio and can thus record titles with a higher sampling rate than 48 kHz and a sampling depth of more than 16 Process bit.
The hybrid, active noise canceling has three modes: transport mode, indoor mode, outdoor mode. The differences lie in which sounds the headphones filter and the intensity with which they do this. For example, the transport mode should make train and air travel more comfortable by eliminating the noise from tracks and engines. The indoor mode focuses primarily on higher-frequency noises, for example to filter background conversations, and the outdoor mode primarily filters medium and low-frequency noises, such as traffic. In addition, wind noises that often occur at head height should be filtered in a targeted manner. Also integrated is a so-called transparency mode, which enables the wearer to increase ambient noise by holding the right auricle for two seconds.
According to the manufacturer, the integrated battery has a playing time of up to to 40 hours with active NC and is charged via USB Type-C. Without noise canceling, even 60 hours should be possible. The connection to the smartphone or other device
