Vodafone cable customers can now book a sports package from the streaming provider DAZN. For EUR 9 99 Vodafone TV customers get access to the DAZN app and two sports television channels (DAZN 1 and DAZN 2). DAZN broadcasts around 16 hours of programming on the two HD channels, including top games in the Bundesliga and European competitions. The channels correspond to the established channels for catering businesses in Germany and Austria.

The channels can be received by all customers in the former Kabel Deutschland network via DVB-C, former Unitymedia customers in North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg so far only via IPTV with the GigaTV-Net-Box. Reception via the box is also open to all customers without a cable connection.

One year minimum contract period As with the app, the first month is free, but this is not to be tried out as with DAZN itself. The minimum contract period is twelve months, of which the first is not charged. The contract is automatically extended by one month at a time if it is not terminated with six weeks’ notice at the end of the term. This also reduces the advertised price advantage compared to the DAZN monthly subscription for 11, 99 euros, because in DAZN also charges just under 10 euros per month for the annual package.

DAZN has been with the northern German regional network operator Wilhelm.tel since the start in Germany Kabel, however, never advertised it much. The background was licensing conditions for the live broadcast of Premier League games, among other things, which stipulated that they would be broadcast on “normal” television. Since DAZN has also secured exclusive rights for games in the Champions League and the Bundesliga, they have been supplying gastronomy with two HD channels broadcast via Sky.
