Following on from the current release 5.3 of the Spring Framework, the Spring team has also submitted updates for the Spring Data collection of data access modules. While the service releases Neumann SR5 and Moore SR 2020 designed for Spring 5.2. as well as the End-of-Life (EoL) marked Lovelace SR 21 for Spring 5.1. 19 still follow the previous nomenclature, Spring Data 2020. 0.0 is the prelude for the new, date-based version scheme, which the Spring- Macher had already announced in spring.

Adjustments to Spring Framework 5.3 According to the announcement, bug fixes, some improvements and, above all, dependency updates have been incorporated into the service releases. Spring Data 2020. 0.0 also takes up innovations from Framework 5.3, such as the new R2DBC module (Reactive Relational Database Connectivity). In addition to refactoring Spring Data R2DBC 1.2, the team has also revised the module for connecting the Neo4j graph database. Spring Data Neo4j 6.0 now integrates SDN / RX – a project that pursued the goal of being able to work with immutable entities when integrating with Neo4j and to benefit from mapping and reactive support.

New in the update is the support for auditing and reactive context expressions of the SpEL (Spring Expression Language). The Spring Data Redis 2.4 module is now adapted to Redis 6.0 and its ACL authentication and offers improved handling of Sorted Set commands . With the release of Spring Data JDBC 2.1, the migration to JUnit 5 was completed and the possibility of Kotlin extensions for Criteria was added.
