Stellantis is born, the merger between FCA and PSA is effective from today

The merger between Fca and Peugeot is was completed as confirmed by the two car manufacturers with a joint press release

The merger between FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) and PSA (Peugeot SA) is effective from today, a date that will be remembered for being the birthplace of Stellantis . The shareholders of the two car manufacturers had already given the go-ahead for the operation.
Stellantis is expected to go public on Monday for the Milan and of Paris , on Tuesdays in New York . Exor , the holding company of the Agnelli family, today holds 449. 410. 092 ordinary shares of Stellantis, which correspond to 14, 4% on the capital in circulation. In the press release issued by Exor itself, we read that “will exercise significant influence over Stellantis” , as the first shareholder of the new group.
Despite this figure, it must however be considered that PSA will have six out of eleven seats on the Board of Directors of Stellantis will be led by Carlos Tavares , president and general manager of Peugeot since 2014.
The merger between FCA and PSA has been welcomed in the automotive world and promises to revolutionize the European industry. The synergies that the two major car manufacturers involved can establish will guarantee important competitive advantages in the years to come and help in the transition to electric mobility. The brands will be 20 in the portfolio of the new group, with a multitude of projects already underway or ready to go. As regards the division of the shares, followed by the majority shareholder Exor we find the Peugeot family with 7.2% , the French state with the 6.2% and the Chinese of Dongfeng with the 5.6% .
