Even if Halloween is mostly neglected in Germany, there have been suitable decorations for the horror event on 31. October. So it is not surprising that the Epic Games Store has come up with something suitable for its upcoming free campaign for Halloween. Since most Halloween events fall through the water due to the ongoing corona pandemic, all Halloween fans can at least go on a digital trick-or-treat tour with Costume Quest 2. Last year, the first part of the action role-playing game was available for free in the Epic Games Store to coincide with Halloween. As always, an account in the Epic Games Store is required, or the shop software must be installed.

Besides Costume Quest 2, all users of the Epic Games Store can expect the horror game Layers of Fear 2. The game was developed by Spieleschmiede Bloober Team and was first published on 29. May 2019 published. In the second part of Layers of Fear, gamers go on a cruise and take on the role of an actor who has to face his inner demons. Various escape sequences have to be mastered, but some of them can be quite frustrating – even if the automatic save points help.

If you prefer to take it easy, the successor to Costume Quest at his expense. In the action role-playing game developed by Double Fine Productions, players take control of either Wren or Reynold. Compared to its predecessor, the developers tried to reduce the monotonous fighting and introduced various attack combos. Of course, costumes also play an important role in the second part of Costume Quest.
