In the display manufacturing sector TCL is certainly one of the most prominent brands currently, particularly with the work of its subsidiary CSoT , which is developing technologies for screens of the near future, including MicroLED, but also Rollable OLEDs .
From smartphone to tablet 17 “in a gesture
At the DTC conference 2020 the Chinese manufacturer showcased new prototypes. Among them stands out the rollable OLED display , produced with new generation ink-jet technologies, improved in flexibility compared to to previous models by removing a layer of color filters.
Interesting to see how such a display can transform a smartphone-like device into one 17 inch tablet, that unrolls like a parchment. This design, imagined from science fiction, therefore seems ever closer to reality.
In the presentation video put online by one of conference attendees can also see a roll-up TV, which is likely aiming to become a competitor for the only roll-up TV currently on the market, LG RX OLED, just made available in South Korea with a price tag of around 75. 00 0 Euro.
