Deutsche Telekom and the telecommunications service provider Cellnex want to merge their radio towers in the Netherlands. The leading independent tower company in the country is to be created under the name Cellnex Netherlands, as the Bonn-based company announced on Thursday. In this, the approximately 3150 roof locations and radio towers of the Telekom subsidiary T Infra as well as approximately 1000 Cellnex masts are bundled.

During the transaction, T-Infra is to be brought into the new Digital Infrastructure Vehicle (DIV). Among other things, Telekom receives a cash payment of 250 million euros and becomes majority owner of the new investment vehicle with two thirds, with Cellnex Netherlands holding the rest. The DIV should be open to other investors and finance Europe-wide infrastructure projects such as data centers or fiber optics, it said.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile Netherlands has unlimited access under a long-term service contract on the mobile infrastructure of Cellnex Netherlands, it said.
