With the Speedbox, Deutsche Telekom has now introduced the next generation of wireless routers to take with you. The mobile hotspot can establish an internet connection across Germany via the LTE cellular network and, according to the company, offers a download speed of up to 300 Mbit / s. The new Speedbox has been painted white and, in contrast to the first generation, is much slimmer and flatter. According to its own statements, the device has a battery life of 3.5 hours.
In addition to a WLAN connection, it is also possible to access the Speedbox via a LAN connection. Up to 64 devices can surf the Internet at the same time. The router has access to the cellular network with a micro SIM card. The Speedbox is available with a total of two tariffs. With the MagentaMobil Speedbox tariff for around 31 euros per month, all Telekom customers receive a data volume of 100 GB for use within Germany. The Speedbox router costs just under 1 euro. The term is 24 months. If necessary, additional data volume can be booked with the SpeedOn option.
With the MagentaMobil Speedbox Flex tariff users do not have to pay a basic fee. Instead, corresponding data packages with a term of 31 days are available for use as required. The one-time provision fee is 39 euros. For the Speedbox router there is a one-off price of just under 83 euros. In addition, both tariffs are available for customers under 24 years at discounted conditions.
