The Boston Dynamics Atlas and Spot robots are once again proving their efficiency. This time it's about real dance
Source: Pure PC added 30th Dec 2020Boston Dynamics can show off the achievements of its robots in a masterful way. We already know that the aforementioned creatures are quite efficient at running, exercising, opening doors, and also with more or less demanding work in which they can one day replace people. As man is a universal being, it may seem that we can feel safe in certain professions. It never crossed my mind that not only couriers and warehousemen, but also dancers could be at risk. Boston Dynamics, however, released a video that strongly verifies my views on these issues. See what robots can do.
Boston Dynamics robots, the humanoid Atlas and the dog-like Spot, once again prove their ability to coordinate movements. The new dance video is impressive.
Robot Boston Dynamics goes on sale. Who can buy it?
Boston Dynamics has been working for many years on robots of various forms that may be assigned to various tasks in the future. Actually, you can already order services provided by these devices to some extent (I think you can call robots that way). The following years will certainly allow for the development of projects such as Spot or Atlas, and it is hoped that their use will be limited to tasks that cannot be entrusted to humans due to their safety. How does dance fit in with it?
The Boston Dynamics robot patrols the park and warns the walkers
The video showing the Boston Dynamics robots – Spot and Atlas dancing together and alone seems to be art for art. Nevertheless, it must be admitted that this unusual spectacle can arouse the imagination and has something truly magnetizing about it. I wonder how useful the services of robots in dance schools could be. Such a vision of the world is not so distant from reality as it may seem at first glance. Today we have access to technologies that we did not dream of ten or twenty years ago.
