The GeForce RTX 3070 was also sold out quickly
Source: Hardware Luxx added 30th Oct 2020Today we were not only able to present the first comparison test of the GeForce RTX 3070, the cards also went in the sale. This also applies to the GeForce RTX 3070 in the Founders Edition, which we looked at two days ago.
According to our own According to NVIDIA, the launch of the GeForce RTX 3070 has been postponed by two weeks in order to ensure better availability. What you apparently have no influence on is the apparently huge demand that there is currently for the new cards.
Accordingly, there is with regard to the availability of the GeForce RTX models 3070 the same picture as with the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 a few weeks ago: Neither the Founders Edition nor the custom models are available. This was already at the supposed start against 15: 00 o’clock not different. If you can currently get an available card at all, it costs 700 euros or more – with a planned starting price of 500 Euro.
Any card – regardless of whether GeForce RTX 3070, GeForce RTX 3080 or GeForce RTX 3090 – which somehow shows up in stores at a reasonable price, changes hands immediately. NVIDIA and its partners are still a long way from meeting current needs. This doesn’t seem to change much for the GeForce RTX 3070, although you should first wait for the initial rush.
Our sources According to NVIDIA, the situation will not improve much into the coming year. Whether one of the new cards ends up under the Christmas tree is ultimately a question of luck or the surcharge one is willing to pay.
AMD is also expecting great demand
The expectations of the Big Navi cards were high and apparently AMD can also meet them. With the same or lower consumption, the Radeon RX 6800, Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6900 the competition in the form of the GeForce RTX 3070, GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 put under pressure. The Radeon RX 6900 XT in particular is apparently heating up the 1st 500 Euro model from NVIDIA, although we still do do not know any euro prices of AMD cards.
However, the buyer will still be up to 18. November or until December 8th have to be patient until these cards come on the market. Until then, NVIDIA and its partners will certainly continue to try to sell as many cards as possible. It also remains to be seen whether AMD will then be able to meet current demand. AMD wants to prevent possible bottlenecks.
