What the lava lamp was in the 70 years is felt nowadays Nanoleaf LED panels. The lamps are extremely popular as furnishings, especially with gamers. But there are also a large number of streamers on YouTube who use these panels for decorative lighting in their studio. At the beginning of the year, the US company Nanoleaf presented the new learning series at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 in Las Vegas. Now the manufacturer has gone even further with the Shapes Triangles and Mini Triangles.

The new Shapes Triangles have rounded edges and can be combined with the well-known hexagons. In addition to the new design, the lighting of the LED panels should also have been optimized. However, it should be noted that the use of the new Shapes Triangles in an existing lamp construction creates gaps. However, these can be filled with the mini triangles. This enables users to let their creativity run free and create various combinations. Furthermore, it is to be expected that Nanoleaf will publish further compatible panels in the future, which allow further individualization of the appearance. With the help of “LayoutDetect” the panels are able to recognize the shape of the construction and to optimize the lighting accordingly. Thus, a color gradient should be implemented smoothly even with a rather abstract arrangement.

The assembly system has also been revised. The panels are no longer simply plugged together loosely, the company relies on panels that snap into place. It is controlled either via the well-known app or Google’s Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa or the Apple HomeKit.

Nanoleaf also announced updates to its own app. Here the user interface should get a new color picker. In addition, the entire operation is according to its own information with the new update
