It has happened to all of us that we have heard a song somewhere, we liked, but we have not been able to obtain the name of the song for some reason , leaving only the melody of somewhere of the song in mind.

Google has wanted to solve this problem with a new function in its Google Assistant, and from now on we can hum the song we have in mind so that Google’s artificial intelligence can do its magic and lead us to know the title of the song we are looking for.

In the Google blog we can read how this feature works , and the truth is that it has a much more complex operation than we could imagine at first Now, as we mentioned before, uses an artificial intelligence network that compares what we hum in real time with the master recordings of thousands of songs.

They also comment that it is not necessary that we have a perfect tone when humming the song, because the artificial intelligence model seems to look rather for the progression of musical notes relative to each other , something that fits with the functioning of the human brain and that explains why sometimes we can sing a song correctly, but with a too low or high pitch.
