Intel released a new Evo brand for laptops last fall. All laptops published under the brand comply with strict requirements in terms of features and size.

Now the company has unveiled a new Intel Visual Sensing Controller, codenamed Clover Falls, for future Evo laptops. According to the company, VSC is a secure data chip that is used to bring new intelligent features to the platform.

Unfortunately, the exact features of the Intel Visual Sensing Controller circuit are still obscured. As a taste of the features, however, the company mentioned, for example, the ability to detect a user’s presence on a laptop, and adjust the brightness of the laptop screen up or down automatically based on it. In addition, the circuit is said to bring new features to laptops in low-power mode, presumably with reference to standby mode.
