Intel has already introduced Xe-based graphics cards in the Tiger Lake notebooks, but other models will have to wait until next year. The Xe family includes four microarchitectures: the Xe-LP for integrated and media servers, the Xe-HPG for gaming on separate graphics cards, the Xe-HP for data centers, and the Xe-HPC for supercomputers.

Intel’s Xe-HPG architecture is currently officially known to combine the best features of all other Xe architectures for gaming, support beam tracking acceleration, and will be manufactured by an external semiconductor manufacturer, most likely TSMC. The first Xe-HPG graphics cards with GDDR6 memory are expected next year.

Now an interesting detail has appeared on Steam. The system requirements for Amnesia Rebirth list not only AMD and NVIDIA, but also Intel graphics cards. The minimum requirements for the game include the familiar HD Graphics 630 graphics driver, but there is an unspecified Intel Xe-HPG on the side of the recommended graphics cards. Other recommended graphics cards for the game are AMD’s Radeon RX 580 and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 680.

The most hasty speculators have interpreted this to mean that at least one Xe-HPG model is in the same speed range as the above-mentioned AMD and NVIDIA graphics card
