This week we were talking about Apple had acquired 80% of TSMC’s 5 nanometer production capacity , something that will allow you to manufacture the processors of several of its products, among which are the Apple M1 processors that are giving so much that talk.
However, it seems that Apple is already looking to the future, and as we can read in Phone Arena, the Apple A processor 15 that will give life to the iPhone 14 would be the first to arrive at a smartphone with a 3 nanometer node , something that should provide great improvements in terms of performance and energy efficiency, two important aspects in any device I really need a battery to work as long as possible.
Also, it is to be expected that a future chip of Apple’s M range, as could be the supposed Apple M1X , also arrive with a 3 nanometer node to provide the same enhancements to its ARM-powered computers and laptops in this abandonment to Intel.
Be that as it may, it appears that Apple has spare chips to manufacture at a 3 nanometer node, so it is possible that Apple will get all the 3 nanometer production that TSMC allows them to acquire.
