An affordable mini Linux PC including a keyboard for bargain hunters and price-conscious users: This is the task of the Raspberry Pi Foundation and is now releasing the Raspberry Pi 400. The little arithmetic servant is to be a modern version of earlier retro computers such as the Commodore, the ZX Spectrum or the Amiga, in which the hardware components are fully integrated under the keyboard.

Based on current Raspi-4 Technology, the device should be equipped with a Quad ARM chip from Broadcom (BCM 2711), which clocks at up to 1.8 GHz ex works. The thermal pad used in the aluminum sheet, which is used to cool the components, should do such a good job that the device neither overheats nor throttles under continuous load. In addition, the Mini-PC should have 4 GB LPDDR4 main memory and a supplied microSD card with 16 GB, via which the pre-installed 32 – Bit-Raspberry-Pi-OS can boot.

On the back of the mini calculator there are all common connection options – including three USB ports (two US -3.0, one USB 2.0), two micro HDMI ports, Gigabit Ethernet, the microSD card reader and a USB-C power port.

With the dimensions of 25, 5 × 2 × 12, 5 cm and a weight of 395 g the lightweight is now available in stores in the basic version (without power supply unit, mouse, SD card and HDMI cable) for just under 70 euros. The Raspberry Pi 400 is also available in the kit, but then costs around 30 euros more.
