The Chinese smartphone manufacturer in vivo is perhaps an even slightly lesser-known name for Europeans, but that is now changing. The company announced at a press conference in Düsseldorf that it would officially expand into the European market

. According to a press release, vivo will initially spread in Europe to six countries: France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom, more commonly known as the British. The company set up its European headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany a year ago and now employs more than 70 people. In addition, the company’s country units currently employ approximately 120 people.

vivo already has a long tradition in the telephone industry. The company was founded in 1995 and initially focused on landlines and basic cell phones. For smartphones, it expanded in 2011 and the company now operates in more than 30 different market areas. According to Canalys market research, the company currently has about 9% share of the global smartphone market.
