We all know the veto that the United States has against Huawei , where TSMC has stopped supplying chips for the Chinese giant, one more block along with Google services that have positioned Huawei in a delicate situation after being almost world number one in mobile devices with flagships like the recently introduced Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Pro + where these Google services are conspicuous by their absence.
We have learned that recently Samsung Display has acquired a license to supply screens to Huawei, according to this report also obtained licenses to supply Sony and OmniV components ision that offer sensors for the cameras of these mobile phones. The veto is gradually being relaxed, so much so that some chipmakers will be able to sell components to Huawei shortly .
This is because it is possible to supply components as long as they are not to manufacture Huawei’s 5G technology since mobile devices are not a problem for the United States, companies that present a license to sell components to Huawei simply will have to demonstrate that these are not components intended for use by Huawei in its 5G business , being reviewed and possibly approved.
With this Huawei will be able to continue manufacturing its devices once the problems with Google’s software have been overcome, including its own HarmonyOS operating system, application store and services on its terminals such as the app of Petal Maps, although they can show that Android o PlayStore would not be used for 5G-related purposes, who knows if they could go back to Huawei phones.
