With the massive rise of mobile gaming, various brands started releasing in-ear gaming headsets. What differentiates an in-ear gaming headset from a “regular” pair of mobile in-ear headphones? Well, almost nothing. Any in-ear headphone with an in-line microphone can be used as a gaming headset, which is why there’s nothing wrong in treating the $40 Thermaltake Isurus Pro V2 as a pair of wired in-ear headphones with a few additions such headphones don’t usually come with.

Those additions are a steel headband you can utilize to make sure the headphones stay put no matter what you’re doing, a dual 3.5-mm TRS splitter cable, which will allow you to connect the Isurus Pro V2 to your PC, as it mostly likely uses a separate audio output and input, and a microphone mute switch built into an in-line remote control. Through its 3.5-mm TRRS plug, the Isurus Pro V2 can be connected directly to a Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox One, as well as any laptop, smartphone or a tablet with a 3.5-mm audio port. If your phone doesn’t have it, you’ll have to get an appropriate USB-C adapter, such as the recently reviewed Sharkoon Mobile DAC. Considering the modest $40 price tag of the Thermaltake Isurus Pro V2, this isn’t surprising, or a big deal.
