In our TOP series 10 of mobile games for smartphones, we try to prove that virtual entertainment on small, about 6-inch screens is not only possible, but can also be convenient and addictive. In the previous parts of the series, we discussed sports, strategic, RPG and battle royale productions. Today we will consider a non-obvious category – horror movies. The main feature of all the titles in this list is that they are intended to arouse anxiety, perhaps fear. The extent to which we are susceptible to these issues is very subjective. However, if you like to be scared, you should reach for these productions and see for yourself about their “effectiveness”.

As was the case in previous editions of the TOP 10 mobile games for smartphones, here are also productions that are “on the borderline” of the category. While games such as Five Nights at Freddy’s or Fran Bow are typical horrors, Inside and Limbo are conditionally here due to the dark climate that effectively causes anxiety in the player. Most of the production is typical scarecrows, but in the lion’s share of games from the list, solving all sorts of puzzles and finding a way to move to the next stage of the game will play a key role in the game. While playing these horrors, I repeatedly stopped at the point where I had to spend a long time. This means that we can enjoy the games not for one, but many evenings. Yes – in the evenings. I definitely recommend reaching for games only when the sun goes down.

Halloween is behind us, but this does not mean that we cannot reach for blood-curdling game productions on mobile devices. Get to know our horror movies, which we have included in the TOP list 10.

For sports, strategy games and various shooters, especially the network ones, the control system is crucial. In order to fully enjoy the fun on a smartphone, we must tame the “keyboard” and gestures that allow us to decide the fate of the protagonist or even the empire. Things are different with horror movies. Navigating the interface and selecting individual activities is not so important here. However, a lot depends on the specific position. While Five Nights at Freddy’s, Fran Bow or Inside do not require special dexterity and efficient maneuvering between functions, Hello Neighbor or Identity V things are a bit different and it is worth spending a while to learn the rules of interacting with the world presented in the game. However, as I mentioned, the control systems in productions from our TOP 10 are relatively simple.

Most of the games from the list are available both on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. This means that you can download them on Android smartphones and iPhones. Not all productions are free, but if a specific title appears in our TOP 10, it means that we fully recommend it. The intensity of the dark climate will vary depending on which of our proposed titles you decide to use. Hello Neighbor can sometimes have a comical overtone, while Fran Bow will cause a strong feeling of anxiety, or at least that was what appeared during my adventure. Inside and Limbo come from the same studio and are characterized by a similar nature of the game. However, I have the impression that the second production is sadder, while the first causes the proverbial pressure in the sternum.
