Tubettaja Equalo used about 45 pounds of potatoes to produce enough power to run Doom with a graphical TI 84 calculator.

Doom is a game that has been tuned over the years to work on virtually any device from refrigerators to printers and ATMs. Recently, Doom was even in the headlines about running a pregnancy tester, but in reality the tester only served as evidence in the case.

Now Doom has been made to work on potatoes as well, literally. Of course, the potatoes do not actually run the game itself, but they provided the power needed to run it with a graphing calculator.

According to PCGamer, tubetto Equalo had originally tried to make Doom run on a Raspberry Pi Zero powered by potatoes. For the project, he procured 100 pounds, or about 45 pounds of potatoes, which should be enough to feed, cooked and sliced, what Raspberry needed 100 – 120 milliamps flows at a voltage of 5 volts.

Unfortunately, this project did not work, Raspberry did get power, but not enough to start. As his last straw card, Equalo eventually connected the same potato army to a Texas Instruments TI – 84 calculator. For it, the power produced by the potatoes was enough, and with it the Doom, which rotated by the power of the potatoes, came true.Source: PCGamer
