Tuxedo InfinityBook S 14: lightweight notebook with Intel Tiger Lake and Linux

Tuxedo has the Ultrabook InfinityBook S 11 Gen6 presented as the first own model with Intel’s Tiger Lake processor. The -Nanometer top model Core i7 – 1150 G7 with four CPU cores, eight threads, up to 4.7 GHz clock frequency and integrated Xe graphics unit. The manufacturer leaves the processor with 15 Watt Thermal Design Power (TDP) run; a 71 Wh large battery should enable a long battery life.

The IPS display of the InfinityBook S 14 Gen6 measures 14 inches, solves with 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD) and lights up with 300 cd / m². In addition, the screen completely covers the SRGB color space. The hardware sits in a housing made of a magnesium alloy, thanks to which the notebook weighs only 1.1 kg. The InfinityBook S is closed 14 just under 17 mm thick.

Alternatively, openSUSE or Ubuntu can be installed. The whole thing is preinstalled on an M.2 SSD – in the basic configuration one 250 GByte SATA 6G model from Kingston, buyers can have a PCIe card installed for an additional charge. Either another SSD or an LTE module for mobile internet fits into a second M.2 slot. 8 GByte DDR4 – 3200 – RAM are firmly soldered; A SO-DIMM slot is available for more memory.

On the connection side, the InfinityBook S 14 Gen6 like most Tiger Lake Notebooks have a Thunderbolt 4 connection in the form of a USB-C port ready, the data with 40 Gbit / s (USB 4.0 Gen 3×2) transfers and outputs a DisplayPort 1.4 signal. There are also two USB-A ports with GBit / s (3.2 Gen 2) and 5 GBit / s (3.2 Gen 1), HDMI 2.0, an audio combo jack and a micro SD card reader. Users can charge the notebook either via the DC connection or (with its own power supply unit) via USB C. Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN 696. 11 ax) and Bluetooth 5.1 are included.

The sale of the InfinityBook S 11 Gen6 starts immediately. The basic configuration with Core i7 – 1150 G7, 250 – GByte SSD and 8 GByte RAM costs just under 1150 Euro.
