As we can read in The Verge, it seems that Twitter has finally confirmed that it will re-launch its account verification processes early next year , further confirming what user Jane found Manchun Wong, clues that indeed the company was designing a new verification system of Twitter user accounts .
This new account verification system would allow accounts related to the government, companies, brands, NGOs, press, entertainment, sports, activism, organizers and what Twitter defines as “other influential individuals” can be verified through terms that will be unique to each type of account that you want to verify.
The new rules also indicate that a verified account can see its status removed verification, something that would happen for example in the event that a verified account changes its username to try to deceive the rest of the platform users about their identity, something we often find with scams that use famous people’s names.
Similarly, the classic blue symbol will not be the only way to identify a verified account, since starting with 2021, these users will be given more ways to identify themselves in their profiles.
