UL Benchmarks released a new 3DMark DirectX Raytracing feature test
Source: IO Tech added 02nd Nov 2020The new 3DMark feature test is designed to measure only the speed of beam tracking without the still significant strain on games
The 3DMark DirectX Raytracing feature test is designed to measure only the beam tracking speed of video cards at the DirectX Raytracing interface. All test graphics are implemented with radius tracking and are drawn in their entirety in one go. In this way, only the performance provided by beam tracking acceleration is highlighted, while in games performance is also significantly affected by the drawing of traditional rasterized graphics. The test rendering resolution is 2560 × 1440 and gives the test result as the average frame rate per second (FPS, Frames per Second). In addition to the standard test, the user can choose how many samples are calculated for each pixel and compare its effect on frame refresh rate and image quality. More detailed information on the technical details of the test can be found in the 3DMark Technical Guide (PDF)
. In addition to the canned test, the feature test provides an interactive mode where the camera can move freely through the world to be rendered. The user can also control the camera settings and their effect on, for example, depth of field.
The 3DMark DirectX Raytracing feature test is available as a free upgrade to the 3DMark Advanced Edition license. Unfortunately, the free version of 3DMark does not include any feature tests at all.
