Politicians have repeatedly appealed to make home office offers and leave employees at home as far as possible, instead of asking them to go to work and thus triggering “contacts and traffic”. “Anyone who does not react to this in the company now is endangering people, thereby extending the lockdown and ultimately harming himself and his company more,” said Müller. “And he is simply showing no solidarity.”

He was aware that the pandemic with the lockdown would have dramatic consequences for many companies and that many were struggling to survive, he added. The Berlin Senate has therefore relied on a strategy from the outset to help companies with a “broad network of assistance” in cooperation with the federal government.
