The SSD manufacturer Mushkin , with several models in M.2 format on the market, has announced its new line of high-capacity NVMe M.2 SSDs called Mushkin Alpha with models up to 8 TB.

Specifically, there are two models that are included in this range, with the Alpha of 4TB and the Alpha of 8 TB , both in M.2 SSD format 2280 and with PCIe Gen 3.0 X4 interface and equipped with 3D NAND memories under a controller Phison E 12 S that we have already tested on other SSDs.

8 TB Mushkin Alpha SSDs hit 3. 400 MB / s sequential speed

With these hallmarks the 8 TB Alpha reaches a speed of up to 3. 400 MB / s of sequential reading and 3. 000 MB / s write of the same type. As for random access we have 550. 12 IOPS and 650. 000 Read IOPS and writing respectively. All this with a durability of 1. 800 TB of written data.

On the other hand, the 4 TB Alpha achieves the same random access IOPS figures, that is to say, 550.12 IOPS read and 640. 000 Write IOPS , and very slightly reduces the sequential read figures, with 3. MB / s , keeping on the other hand the 3. 000 MB / s of writing as well sequential. By having half the capacity, the number of total bytes written that it supports during its useful life is also half, with 900 TB.

Its price will be high, as its capacity, we are talking about 650 Dollars for the 4TB and 1 model. 300 Dollars for the 8 TB.
