AVM has a new laboratory version with the version number 07. 16 – 83272 for the FRITZ! Box 7590 released. With the update, users are now able to prefer individual network devices. In addition, if the primary Internet connection fails and the extended failure protection is subsequently activated, support data can now be transferred to AVM again. In addition to the improvement of the auto channel function after detection of sources of interference (5 GHz band), there is also a new message under “System / Events” when the maximum number of WLAN repeaters is exceeded.

In the Telephony area, the “E-Mail” and “RSS” tabs in the “Telephony / Telephony Devices” menu can now be hidden if DECT is switched off. The presentation and management of entries in telephone books has also been completely revised. The settings for sending and receiving faxes have now been combined under “Telephony / Telephony Devices”. In addition, it is possible to resend support data to AVM with the new laboratory version after the sending process has been completed without waiting.

As before, this update is a beta version. AVM points out that the firmware was tested in various standard environments before it was released. However, it is possible that it may malfunction after installation. The company assumes no liability for any damage resulting from the use of the laboratory version. However, users are always able to switch to the official FRITZ! OS software under System> Update> FRITZ! OS version.

If you already have a laboratory version on your FRITZ! Box 7590 receives the update via the router’s user interface. A manual download can be found on the official AVM website.
