VAXEE Zygen NP-01 Wireless (4K) Review
Source: Tech Power Up added 17th Jun 2024Introduction
Established in 2019 by the original founding team of Zowie, VAXEE is a peripherals company and shop platform. Replacing the regular USB full-speed wireless dongle (“VXD01”), all wireless mice from VAXEE from now on ship with the USB high-speed VXD02 dongle. Accordingly, all VAXEE wireless mice will be capable of true 2000 and 4000 Hz wireless polling, while polling rates of 1000 Hz and under continue to be available, and will perform better than with the VXD01 dongle, too. The VXD02 dongle is also available for separate purchase, to upgrade existing models. The foundation for the NP-01 Wireless continues to be PixArt’s PAW3395 sensor, coupled with an MCU and firmware solution also from PixArt. At 72 g, the NP-01 Wireless weighs exactly the same as the wired NP-01, and the original shape is fully retained. The main buttons are outfitted with switches from Huano, and the feet are made of pure PTFE. VAXEE cites a battery life of up to 100 hours at 1000 Hz, which is lowered to 55 hours by enabling competitive mode. Both 2000 and 4000 Hz already default to competitive mode, and up to 45 and 35 hours are cited for these, respectively. As always with VAXEE mice, configuration is done entirely on the mouse through various buttons and button combinations. The NP-01 Wireless is exclusively available through the VAXEE shop in black, white, pink, yellow, blue, or orange.
