Video game “Super Mario Bros. 3” auctioned for record sums

The piece set a world record for auctioning a video game in its original packaging, the auction house Heritage Auctions announced on Friday (local time) in Dallas, Texas.
Rare packaging, very good condition The first bid was therefore 62 . 500 dollars, but 20 bidders would have driven the price up. The rare packaging was in particularly good condition, it was said. Initially, nothing was known about the buyer. The Japanese company Nintendo launched the now world-famous video game “Super Mario Bros. 3” 1990 in the USA.
Only in July the auction house had set a record with an originally packaged “Super Mario Bros.” computer game from 1985. This piece changed hands for 114. 000 dollars. “We couldn’t be happier to set a world record for the second time in the same year,” said Valarie McLeckie of Heritage Auctions in a statement.
