Volvo founds the company Zenseact, rib of the Swedish manufacturer dedicated to the development of Autonomous Drive (AD) autonomous driving technology, and announces the choice of Ödgärd Andersson as its CEO

Volvo founds the company Zenseact , an offshoot of the Swedish manufacturer dedicated to the development of autonomous driving technology Autonomous Drive (AD), and communicates the choice of Ödgärd Andersson as its CEO.
Formerly Chief Digital Officer for Volvo, he will fill the new role starting November 1st, the need for the creation of Zenseact was created to better define the role of this division as a new entity directly controlled by Volvo, following the demerger of the joint venture with Veoneer.

Zenseact will focus on developing AD and active security software, leveraging approx. 600 people between offices in the city of Gothenburg , Sweden, and those of Shanghai , China.

Joining Zenseact right now is exciting as we accelerate development and prepare to deliver software that will enable the first cars to drive safely on their own in a few years “ commented Ödgärd Andersson.

“Volvo believes autonomous driving will revolutionize road safety and we are committed to introducing the technology to our next generation cars,” he said instead Håkan Samuelsson CEO of Volvo and new chairman of the board of directors for Zenseact.
