VW subsidiary Traton offers Navistar desired price for acquisition

The Volkswagen commercial vehicle subsidiary Traton and the US truck manufacturer Navistar have reached an agreement in principle on the takeover. Traton will “by way of a merger all shares of Navistar that are not already held by Traton, at a price of 44, 50 Acquire US dollars per Navistar share, “says a press release.

Traton has been holding barely since 2016 17 percent of Navistar and now wants to take over the company in full. Since September of this year, the VW subsidiary had only offered 43 US dollars, 1, 50 Dollars less than requested by Navistar. The transaction will now cost 3.7 billion US dollars.

This agreement is subject to the result of an intensive due diligence , the agreement on the conclusion of the merger agreement and the approval by the management and supervisory boards of Traton, Volkswagen and the Navistar board of directors and the shareholders
