After the Epic Games Store is currently offering Costume Quest 2 as well as the horror game Layers of Fear free of charge for Halloween, the next week will be a big ghost hunt. True to the motto “ We are not afraid of ghosts” , the remaster of the Ghostbusters: The Video Game can be obtained free of charge from the Epic Games Store. As always, an account in the Epic Games Store is required, or the shop software must be installed.

At the beginning of the year, we published our own game for the new edition of The Ghost Hunters and we shared it with Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore New York City saved from the giant Marshmallow Man, among others. Now every interested gamer can act as a rookie ghost hunter completely free of charge and explore various linear levels. The players end up in the world-famous New York Public Library as well as in another dimension. So not only fans of the Ghostbusters should hit the current release in the Epic Games Store. Especially on Halloween it makes sense to unpack the proton emitters and catch a few ghosts.

Even if the original version was already in the year 2009, the remaster doesn’t show its age thanks to the numerous cosmetic changes. Only the lack of German voice output should annoy some fans. But the original sound of the game is not to be despised either. Both Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis were responsible for the script. According to the authors, Ghostbusters: The Video Game can be perceived as the unofficial third part of the franchise. With Ghostbusters: Legacy (OT: Ghostbusters Afterlife) from 2021 to around 30 years the official third part be seen in theaters.
