WhatsApp historically gives the possibility of disable the notifications of a chat or an individual conversation for a maximum of one year, and until now it has not allowed users to silence them forever. Until today, precisely, because this strange limitation has been removed through a server-side update on all clients of the messaging service.

As was the case on that version, the option “Disable notifications for … Always “ is accompanied by the possibility to mute for 8 hours or for 1 week. How to disable notifications of a chat on WhatsApp forever
To permanently disable notifications of a specific conversation on WhatsApp , be it a group or individual chat, simply access the conversation itself, press on the header that shows the name of the interloc user or group and press on the item Disable notifications . A screen will open showing three options: 8 hours; 1 week; Always. Pressing on Always , and then on Ok , you will disable notifications forever for that conversation.
If you want to display notifications on screen instead, but not receive alerts (ringtone or vibration), simply tick Show notifications before giving the ok.
