According to the sources of the Overclocking website. com, Nvidia allegedly delivered old Turing GPUs to partners to restore stock of GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 SUPER. At the moment there is no clear motivation, but here are some hypotheses.

In a healthy video card market, the arrival of a new generation of proposals would lead to the progressive discontinuation of the previous series. The problem is that today the sector is totally off the classic tracks, thanks to the high demand (enthusiasts, scalpers, miners, etc.) and a production that is unable to restore the balance. The situation should last for a few months and, perhaps for this reason, rumors arrive about the arrival of new stock of Turing GPUs to manufacturers to restart production of cards GeForce RTX 2060 and 2060 SUPER.
To talk about it is the Overclocking.com site, citing sources among the different manufacturers. To coincide with the debut of the GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB, we could therefore see the arrival of “old cards” based on the Turing architecture (models still valid for playing in Full HD, but that disfigure compared to the proposals Ampere).
The source reports that the GeForce RTX 2060 could be positioned around the 300 euro, while the RTX 2060 SUPER around the 400 euro. However, it should not be forgotten that the RTX 3060 12 GB announced last week will start from 339 EUR. Which can only be perplexing.
In the absence of further details, there is room for some speculation : the first is that the RTX 2060 / 2060 S incoming mainly serve the OEM market and system integrators to ensure the presence on the market of pre-assembled PCs, in order to buffer the current shortage situation. The availability of these models of the series 2000, in Italy and in the world, is very low and with skyrocketing prices.
The second, less pleasant hypothesis is that the RTX 3060 will represent a paper launch, with very few cards available and moreover not at the price indicated by Nvidia. We will find out at the end of February, when the new product of the RTX family 3000 will officially debut.
