McDonald’s wants to equip all of its drive-ins with fast charging stations and thus demonstrate sustainability.

No, this is not a Big Mac, but a vegan burger, at McDonald’s for a year and a half. The company asks itself, “If there’s no meat in there, why is the Big Vegan TS so tasty?”

Sustainability is in, the US burger chain McDonald’s has long since noticed. And also that more and more customers drive to their branches by car, at least that’s what the company writes. “Since effective CO₂ reduction is an important part of the sustainability goals of McDonald’s Germany, the company is now also increasingly committed to the field of electromobility.” All branches with a drive-in in Germany should get fast charging stations up to 2025. “In the coming year alone 20 new locations are to be opened up”, writes McDonald’s.

CO₂ -Reduction and McDonald’s? Greenpeace may raise objections, because worldwide animal husbandry is one of the most important causes of greenhouse gas emissions with around 20 global warming, say the environmentalists. McDonald’s emphasizes sustainability and is already vegan, but not long ago one of his bloggers found not only two, but even three arguments for eating meat. The question remains whether the pace of loading on its pillars can keep pace with the pace that McDonald’s has given its servants and munchers so far.
