Zapps: Zoom launches app store for the integration of other collaboration services

Since many companies already have software in use, it can be integrated into Zoom as an app in the future: They are then called Zapps. At this year’s Zoomtopia, Zoom’s annual event, a platform for online events and end-to-end encryption will also be presented.
Up to now, Zoom could be integrated into other services. That should now also turn around. Dropbox, Slack, Miro and many other applications for collaboration, communication and planning should appear as apps for Zoom. For example, a document can be edited in another application from a video conference. 25 Launch partners are already connected. “Zapps were developed to give developers a fast and flexible web view when creating apps, to enable viral distribution and to make deployment and administration easier,” explains Zoom in the announcement.
The software development kits (SDKs) are also being expanded to facilitate the integration of Zoom. They are available now for Android, iOS and the web.
Event platform and E2EE Onzoom.com offers online events that can be booked: yoga courses, cooking instructions, but also Webinars for software and more should run over it. Depending on the creator, they are free, chargeable or ask for donations. Initially, the offer is only available in the USA and as a beta version. Access will probably be expanded in the coming year. Amazon has also launched a similar platform in the USA, it’s called Explore.
End-to-end encryption (E2EE) is also planned for the coming week move in at zoom, the public beta ends with it It is optional and available for all accounts, both free and paid. At any meeting, you can decide whether to use it or not. Dialing in from the landline network and some conference systems is not possible.
