It has been two years since BioWare first released Anthem and around 18 months since the studio decided to take the game back to the drawing board. Anthem’s 2.0 update has been in the works for a long time now but we know very little about it. That could change soon, as EA is apparently making a final decision on whether to go through with re-launching Anthem or not.
According to a Bloomberg report this week, EA and BioWare executives are meeting this week to discuss the status of Anthem. Depending on this meeting, the Anthem reboot could gain additional resources for a final development push, which is presumably the outcome BioWare is looking for.
This is all part of the development milestones EA puts in place for all major projects. Recently, BioWare Austin’s Christian Daily, who formed the small incubation team to figure out where Anthem went wrong, joined the Dragon Age 4 team.
This leaves the Anthem team in need of new leadership, which has likely been figured out internally, but we don’t know who has taken over the project publicly.
KitGuru Says: Hopefully this leads to some big Anthem news in the near future, as the game has seemingly been stuck in limbo for a long time now.
