Remember the Galaxy A80? The phone had a camera that could rise and flip around when you wanted to take a selfie. That kept the front neat with slim bezels and no punch holes. However, this model didn’t get a sequel last year as the device rumored to be the A81 turned out to be the Note10 Lite instead.
So here we go again – rumor has it that Samsung is working on a Galaxy A82 (with alleged model designation SM-A826B, though that isn’t certain yet). Unfortunately, there’s no confirmation that the phone will feature a flip-up camera like the A80. So far we really only know that it will be a 5G phone, but that is hardly surprising.
Samsung Galaxy A80: neat on the front • the flip-up camera • great quality selfies
Currently, that kind of design is available only on Asus’ Zenfones. And until under-display cameras become more common, it remains one of the few options for an uninterrupted screen. Using the main camera for selfies makes for great quality photos too (and you get an ultra wide-angle lens and an LED flash “for free” with this design).
That said, a Galaxy Note20 Lite might not be a bad idea either, so perhaps fans of the stylus won’t mind if history repeats itself.
The Galaxy A81 that wasn’t – the Galaxy Note10 Lite traded the flip-up camera for an S Pen
Whatever it ends up being, the so-called Galaxy A82 is still in the early stages of development, so it will be a while before it hits the market. We should have our answer earlier than that though, smartphone designs don’t stay secret for very long these days.
Samsung has developed a panel OLED from 14 inches and refresh rate at 90 Hz intended for notebooks. Volume production will start in March.
by Manolo De Agostini published 21 January 2021 , at 10: 21 in the Portable channel Samsung
Samsung Display announced the start in March of the volume production of an OLED panel a 90 Hz intended for notebooks . The new solution from 14 inches , according to Samsung Display CEO Joo Sun Choi, “can best meet the diverse needs of consumers in laptops used in telecommuting, online education, video streaming and games “.
South Korean manufacturer believes new panel will be welcomed by consumers thanks to images with better contrast and color, together with a better response time which should ensure a motion blur comparable to that obtained with an LCD screen at 120 Hz when viewing content at high speed.
Samsung has not provided further technical details (aspec ratio, gamut, etc.) nor indicated any OEM ready to adopt the panel in question. OLED displays are not a total novelty in the laptop industry, but they are certainly not common. Some models offer an OLED panel as an option, but these are 60 Hz solutions. Samsung itself, l ‘last year, it presented a Galaxy Chromebook with an OLED display, while this year it turned to a cheaper QLED.
However, it should not be forgotten that in recent days the Asian company has anticipated the arrival of a future notebook with OLED screen and webcam “under” the display, a novelty able to eliminate as much as possible the frames to the advantage of a larger viewing area and a better design.
The successor of Huawei Mate X, the Mate X2, passed the TENAA certification in November of 2020, and despite having been hearing rumors about the terminal for the past year, for now there were no exact specifications about the terminal. However, as we can read in GSMArena, a leak originating in China arrives to reveal a good part of the technical specifications of the device.
The Huawei Mate X2 will have a processor Kirin 9000 inside , as well as a inward folding screen , as found in terminals like the Samsung Galaxy Fold , instead of the exterior design that we find in the Huawei Mate X and, by extension, in the Mate Xs.
We will have a screen 8. x 2200 pixels , accompanied by a bread outer size of 6. 45 inches with a resolution of 2700 x 1160 pixels , m While in the cameras section we will come across a selfie camera of 16 MP, as well as a main camera of 50 MP will arrive accompanied in the back by cameras of 12, 12 and 8MP, with features like 10 increases.
Your battery will have a capacity of 4400 and support for fast charging of 66 W , Android 10, and a rather remarkable weight of 295 grams.

Caviar releases five luxurous Limited Edition smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, decorated with gold, diamonds, titanium and leather.
Last week, Samsung proudly presented the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series, of which the Galaxy S21 Ultra is the new top model. Based on this high-end smartphone, the Russian Caviar has released a collection of Limited Edition models. Caviar is known for decorating existing smartphone models with the most durable and rare materials, including gold, precious metals, titanium and leather.
The new 2021 collection from Caviar consists of 5 different stylish and luxurious designs. One richly decorated top model as well as two models for women and two models for men. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is used as the basis for all five models.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Gold Ox
The most special and luxurious Limited Edition version is designed to mark the Chinese New Year. According to the lunar calendar, 2021 is the Year of the Ox. The ox brings good luck and prosperity in the new year.
This has inspired Caviar to provide the Samsung S21 Ultra with a three-dimensional bas-relief of an ox’s head with a large shiny gold nose ring. This movable ring also makes it is very convenient to hold the smartphone in your hands, Caviar reports.
The back of this “Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Gold Ox” is made of black heavy-duty titanium with an elegant engraving. A stylish honeycomb structure has been used for the bottom part, where the 3D ox head protrudes. To make this Luxury Edition even more exclusive, Caviar has inlaid the eyes of the ox with two beautiful diamonds. This gives the ox an extra powerful and luxurious appearance.
Caviar will produce only 21 copies of this luxury version of the S21 Ultra, referring to the year ‘21. Caviar also introduced the phone on the 21th day of the year ’21 in the 21th Century. The price of this Limited Edition smartphone is set at $ 20,140 USD, for this amount you will receive the 128GB model. When opting for one of these models, it’s good to realize that the new S-series smartphones from Samsung do not have a microSD compartment to expand the memory.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Carbon version
Caviar has also released a more affordable Carbon Edition. This dark gray smartphone has a more restrained design, but at the same time looks no less luxurious. Automotive carbon fiber has been used, this material is particularly light and strong.
The top has a smooth structure, made of hardened titanium. The characteristic Caviar logo, in the shape of a crown, is also incorporated here. The underside has a rib-like structure, which gives the device a unique appearance. A beautiful item for successful men.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Carbon Limited Edition from Caviar is priced at $ 6,060 USD (128GB). The smartphone comes in a beautiful luxury packaging, which also makes it a suitable business gift.
Naturally, this smartphone offers the same functionality as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. There is a 6.8-inch QHD+ curved AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The quad-camera system with laser autofocus sensor has also been renewed. In addition, Samsung has equipped the S21 Ultra with S Pen support, although the stylus pen is not included as standard.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Black Alligator
Caviar has also created the Galaxy S21 Ultra Black Alligator for men. As the name suggests, this device is completely black and equipped with black alligator leather. The characteristic V-shape that can be found throughout the 2021 collection is this time designed in 18-carat gold. The Caviar crown is also made of gold.
This smartphone model also uses hardened titanium. The bottom is decorated with soft crocodile leather. This gives the device a classic look and will also provide a nice grip.
The Black Alligator model is a little more expensive than the Carbon version. The retail price is set at $ 6,220 USD for the 128GB version. Caviar also offers the possibility to personalize the phone. For example, you can have a gold logo inserted, as LetsGoDigital also had done with the Galaxy S10 Limited Edition at the time.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra White Alligator
Caviar has also designed a feminine version of the Black Alligator version. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra White Alligator looks similar, but comes with white crocodile leather. In addition, silver accents have been applied, instead of gold. In addition to the V-shape and the crown, the entire phone frame and the camera are also decorated with shiny silver.
The hardened titanium back has also been given a matching color. It is a beautiful luxury smartphone for the successful manager or businesswoman. This elegant smartphone will be sold for $5.980 USD, making it the cheapest addition to the 2021 line-up. Caviar offers free worldwide shipping, after placing an order delivery takes about two weeks.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Golden Lines
Last but not least, Caviar has also introduced an all-gold model, for the ladies who don’t mind standing out a bit. This time Caviar opted for a completely different line pattern. Relatively wide gold lines have been applied to the left and right sides, with very thin horizontal lines in between. Hence the matching name “Golden Lines”.
The characteristic Caviar logo is placed on the center of the device. Both the frame and the camera system have a black color, which makes them stand out. This time Samsung has opted to build in two telephoto lenses, each with 10 megapixel resolution. One can zoom in 10x, the other 3x. This new zoom combination seems to be a great success, judging from the first expert reviews that have now appeared online.
This female version will get a suggested retail price of $6.140 USD. Apart from the top model, Caviar will produce 99 copies per model. Each device has a unique number engraved on the side. In addition, a certificate of authenticity is included, which specifies the materials used to decorate the smartphone.
Samsung Display has announced plans to mass-produce the world’s first 90Hz OLED screens designed for laptops and says that “several global IT companies” are expected to release models with the new panels this year. Manufacturing will begin in March in “very large quantities,” the company says in a statement attributed to CEO Choi Joo-sun.
The panels are 14-inch in size, though Samsung Display hasn’t given details on specs like aspect ratio or resolution; it’s possible that there will be multiple versions available. Samsung does cite the faster response time of its OLED panels, claiming “practically” the same amount of blurring as a 120Hz LCD when displaying fast-moving content. No potential laptop OEM partners were named in the statement.
OLED displays aren’t unheard of in laptops, but they’re not at all commonplace. While quite a few gaming laptops offer them as an option, the tradeoff there is that you’ve had to give up on high refresh rates. And despite Samsung itself launching an OLED-equipped Galaxy Chromebook last year, the 2021 followup uses a cheaper QLED-branded LCD display instead.
Samsung is the world’s biggest vendor of OLED display panels, so the announcement today suggests that OLED laptops are likely to become much more of a common sight this year.
In a rather odd turn of events, Samsung might be bringing a 4G variant of its recently released Galaxy S21 5G after all. All three S21 models introduced last week come with 5G connectivity exclusively (mmWave or sub-6Ghz depending on region) but a new Bluetooth SIG certification suggests we’re in for a regular old 4G model too.
Galaxy S21 4G Bluetooth SIG listing
The listing specifies two model numbers (SM-G990F and SM-G990F_DS) which do not match the current SM-G991X model numbers on the S21 5G. These could very well be the 4G variants of the S21 5G meant for markets where 5G infrastructure is still not established. It remains to be seen if and when Samsung will launch 4G variants of its Galaxy S21 series but we will make sure to update you once more info emerges.
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy M62 will be similar to the F62 (perhaps even identical). The Geekbench scorecard for the phone (SM-M625F) shows that it will be powered by the Exynos 9825 chipset, which was used in the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+.
This 7nm chip features two custom M4 cores (2.73 GHz), two Cortex-A75 cores (2.4 GHz) and four A55s (2.0 GHz), along with a Mali-G76 MP12 GPU and a built in LTE modem. The benchmark is showing 6 GB of RAM.
The Galaxy M62 will run Android 11 out of the box. From FCC documents we know it will have a massive 7,000 mAh battery – the same power pack that as used in the Galaxy M51, in fact (EB-BM415ABY). It seems that the M62 is cobbled together from existing parts.
After the Galaxy S21 got disassembled on video earlier this week, PBKreviews has switched their focus to the flagship of this year’s S-lineup – the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Taking the glass back off reveals the camera lens cover is made from metal just like the frame of the device. It’s held by adhesive to the glass panel and should be substantially more durable compared to the glass camera covers of the previous S-series models. Since this is the international version of the S21 Ultra, the phone is missing the mmWave antennas which would be located on the left and right sides. The actual slots for the antennas are still in place though.
Going deeper into the phone we can see Samsung used plenty of graphite film on the NFC antennas and motherboard. We then get confirmation that all three cameras on the S21 Ultra come with optical image stabilization.
Interestingly enough the top speaker does not come with foam ball insulation which was present on the smaller and cheaper Galaxy S21. Unlike the standard S21, the S21 Ultra’s screen connector cable is not detachable and is fixed to the screen which makes the process of replacing the screen more difficult.
As previously announced, MediaTek today unveiled two new chips for mobile devices. The Dimensity chip 1200 is intended for the flagship models, but the same can be said for the slightly weaker Dimensity 1100 which used a slightly lower clock speed and core distribution. These systems will go to devices from brands such as realme, Xiaomi, vivo and OPPO, while the first smartphone equipped with Dimensity 1200 will be realme X9. The premieres of the hardware with the aforementioned processor are planned for the end of the first quarter 2021 of the year. Let’s check the most important differences from last year’s mobile layout for Dimensity smartphones 1000 +.
MediaTek presented two new flagships smartphones chips. Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 made in a 6 nm technological process is a significant progress in relation to Dimensity 1000.
Redmi Note 9T 5G smartphone test – Camera 48 MP, MediaTek Dimensity chip 800 U and 5G modem in practice
One important first case. Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 differ mainly in the timing of the cores and their arrangement. The first of the systems works on the basis of one Cortex-A core 78 (3 GHz), three Cortex-A cores 78 (2.6 GHz) and four Cortex-A cores 55 (2 GHz). Dimensity 1100 received four Cortex-A cores 78 (2.6 GHz) and four Cortex-A cores 55 (2 GHz) . Both chips support QHD + screens refreshed with frequency 90 Hz, while only Dimensity 1200 allows 168 Hz in FHD +. The weaker variant is compatible with 144 Hz for FHD +.
Samsung Exynos 2100 officially. Aiming at Samsung Galaxy S 21, the chip will record video in 4K resolution with 120 Frames
The difference is also the resolution support of single main camera. Dimensity 1200 conforms to units up to 200 MP, Dimensity 1100 can handle the resolution up to 108 MP. Both SoCs allow 4K video recording at 60 fps. Common features of Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 include the Mali-G GPU 77 MP9, APU 3.0 six-core machine learning and Helio M modem 70 5G (Sub-6Ghz). MediaTek Dimensity’s predecessor 1000 + used Cortex-A cores 77 and Cortex-A 55, same graphics and modem, but offered support for cameras 80 MP. The chip was made in 7 nm lithography.
Last September, Samsung unveiled it’s latest ruggedized tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 8.0 is positioned as a work-oriented tablet with ruggedized endurance and long battery life. This 8-inch tablet comes with a tough case that can survive drops from 5 feet high and even without the case it should survive falls of 4 feet. The Tab Active 4 will also include a waterproof S Pen for productivity in the most demanding of conditions.
A waterproof S Pen for using the tablet with thick gloves
As of right now, the new tablet has officially gone on sale starting at $489 for the 64GB Wi-Fi only variant while an LTE-connected version will run $589. There’s also a 128GB version, whose Wi-Fi variant will start at $509, but it appears those might only be available for Samsung’s enterprise clients.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3
The tablet has physical navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, and the bezels themselves are quite large –typical of a device built for durability. That middle button doubles as a fingerprint scanner. There’s an 8-inch LCD screen that is designed to accept input even when wearing gloves or using the IP68-certified S Pen.
Internally, the Exynos 9810 powers the tablet and this is the same chipset that powered the Galaxy Note9. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and the storage is expandable via microSD card slot. The tablet runs Android 10 and DeX mode offers a desktop-connected experience with or without the dock.
Pogo pins for charging on a dock
There’s a 13MP main camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera is useful for video calls and virtual meetings. There’s a removable 5,050 mAh battery – which makes hot-swapping easy for an instant full charge. There are also docking pins at the bottom for quickly throwing the Tab Active3 for a charge.
Samsung opened the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 beta program for the Galaxy M31 last month, and now it has released the stable build of the One UI 3.0, making the M31 its first mid-range phone to get One UI 3.0 stable update.
The One UI 3.0 update comes with firmware version M315FXXU2BUAC, January 2021 Android security patch, and requires a download of about 400MB. The new build also brings redesigned UI and new features to the Galaxy M31. You can check out the screenshots of the changelog below for more details.
Galaxy M31 One UI 3.0 stable update
The One UI 3.0 update for Galaxy M31 is currently rolling in India for beta users, but those who didn’t participate in the beta program should get it soon.
It’s sort of a tradition for Samsung to announce new TWS earphones alongside its latest Galaxy S-flagships and this year we get the Galaxy Buds Pro. We got to spend some time with a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro earlier today and we did some quick tests to get a feel of what Samsung’s latest premium earbuds bring to the table. These are our initial impressions, but we will be doing a detailed review when we’ve spent enough time with them.
Fit
As with all in-ear headphones, you’ll have to find the right tip size for your ears to ensure a snug fit. This is rather important since the passive noise cancellation depends on having a tight seal around your ear canal. Provided you’ve attached the right rubber tips, the Galaxy Buds Pro offer superb fit and stay in your ears at all times.
Each earbud weighs just 6.3 grams which is on par with the Galaxy Buds+ and a smidge more than the Buds Live (5.6 grams each) though you really won’t be able to tell the difference when you put them on. After a few hours of wear, you forget you even have them on. Our unit comes in the Phantom Black colorway which features a glossy (and reflective) outward shell while the rest of the construction is matte. The earbuds are IPX7 water-resistant and feature assuringly solid construction.
Sound
The Buds Pro pack a dual driver setup with 11mm woofers and 6.5mm tweeters in each earbud. Upon first inspection, sound quality is quite balanced with decent levels of bass and satisfying highs and lows. We’ll make sure to offer more details in the full review of course but so far we can say the Buds Pro sound seems to befit their name.
The active noise cancellation from the Buds Live (aka Beans) is back on the Buds Pro and this time around and it’s noticeably more potent. While in an office environment the Buds Pro managed to filter all the lows and mids perfectly though we’ll have to test them out in other environments for the full review. This is also when we’ll get the chance to compare them to the likes of Apple AirPods Pro.
The ANC has low and high levels which adjusts how much of the outside sound is blocked out – this seems a little excessive as we can’t envision a scenario where you’d want just a little of the outside noise blocked.
You can of course listen to the Buds Pro without noise cancellation or have them in Ambient Sound mode which amplifies external sounds. The Buds Pro also have the new Voice Detect feature, which works quite well, toggling from noise cancellation or normal mode to Ambient Sound almost instantly when it detects you’re talking. Once the conversation is over, the Buds Pro revert to their original state. The only issue is that if someone else starts talking you’ll still miss the first sentence toward you until you reply and the earphones detect that.
Pairing, other features
We tested out the Buds Pro with a Galaxy Z Fold2 and the pairing was as seamless as it gets. As soon as we opened the case the Buds Pro were recognized and instantly paired to the phone with a single click. Of course, this instantaneous connectivity won’t be available to non-Samsung devices. However, you can get the Galaxy Wearable app on any phone and take advantage of its customization options and controls including programing the touch-sensitive sides of the earphones, find my earbuds and gaming mode.
Galaxy Wearable customization options for Buds Pro
Gaming mode also reduces latency by a noticeable amount. We tested the feature on a game called Athletics Mania, which simulates track and field events. The 100m sprint game requires you to tap immediately after the starting pistol is fired and with the Buds Pro we managed good to very good starts while the exact same test with the Galaxy Buds+ rendered poor results on most tries. Not quite what was possible with a wired headset, but certainly a major step forward.
Upon first testing, the Galaxy Buds Pro are a step in the right direction for Samsung’s TWS lineup and offer tangible improvements over their predecessors. Make sure to tune back when the full review is published as we delve deeper into the Galaxy Buds Pro’s sound and features.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3, announced globally in September of last year, is now available in the US starting at $489.99. It’s a rugged 8-inch Android tablet designed primarily for manufacturing, retail, and job sites, with an IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating. Samsung even says it passed tests against 23 environmental conditions, including vibrations and high altitude, to meet the MIL-STD-810 military-grade standard. An IP68 S Pen stylus is included in the box, as is a case that protects against drops up to 1.5 meters.
The Tab Active 3’s touchscreen is designed to be used even when wearing work gloves, though not “extremely heavy duty gloves or mittens.” It also offers three physical navigation buttons as well as two programmable buttons that can act as shortcuts to certain apps.
Its rear 13-megapixel and front-facing 5-megapixel cameras are optimized for scanning barcodes, and a removable 5,050mAh battery is included. While it will ship with Android 10, Samsung says an upgrade to Android 11 will follow. It will sell with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, expandable by microSD card slot.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 is available now from Samsung’s partner distributors and at Samsung.com. It starts at $489.99 for a Wi-Fi-only version and $589.99 for the LTE model. Samsung says it will remain available for purchase for three years.
The Galaxy S21 trio will go on sale next week and while it will be available through multiple retailers, some colors are exclusive to the Samsung online store. As it turns out, Samsung has been holding back and kept one Galaxy S21+ color under wraps – “Phantom Green”.
Phantom Gold and Phantom Red are the two exclusives that were showcased during the announcement. However, when Samsung Australia detailed which devices are eligible to receive pre-order goodies it included a Phantom Green paint job for the S21+ as well.
The bad news is that there is still no image of that colorway on the company’s official site and no way to pre-order it. The good news is that LetsGoDigital created 3D renders of what the Green version might look like.
What the Samsung Galaxy S21+ in Phantom Green might look like (unofficial renders)
This isn’t some special edition, the table makes it clear that the Phantom Green S21+ will be available in the same 128GB and 256GB storage configurations as the other S21+ units. And it will cost the same too (note: the prices are in Australian dollars).
There’s no clue as to when the new color will be available. If it is to participate in the pre-order promotion, it needs to go online before January 29 (when the pre-order ends).
The current selection of basic and exclusive colors for the S21 series
PS. the poor vanilla S21 still has no eStore exclusive colors.
Samsung is bringing its cheapest 5G phone to the UK – the Galaxy A32 5G will be available in a month. Two 4G-connected members of the A-series will launch before that. All three phones have 6.5” displays with 720p+ resolution, all three are powered by 5,000 mAh batteries with 15W charging support.
The Galaxy A32 5G will cost £250 when it becomes available on February 19. It will come in Awesome Black, White, Blue and Violet. This Dimensity 720-powered phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage as standard (plus a microSD slot) and runs Android 11 with One UI 3.0 out of the box.
It features a 48MP main camera on the back, 8MP ultrawide (123°), 5MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera has a 13MP sensor. Both front and back cams can record 1080p video at 30 fps.
Samsung Galaxy A12 • 48MP main camera, 5MP ultrawide and two 2MP helpers
The Galaxy A12 is available as of today for £170. You can find it on the Samsung UK website (it’s available in Ireland as well at €190), you can check local retailers as well.
This one drops down to a Helio P35 chipset and Android 10. It has 4 GB of RAM and 64GB storage (there are no other memory configurations on the British Isles). The camera setup is very similar with a 48MP main module on the back, but with lower resolution sensors in the ultra wide (5MP) and selfie (8MP) cameras.
Samsung Galaxy A02s • 13 MP camera • 5,000 mAh battery with 15W charging
Finally, the Galaxy A02s will be available “in the coming weeks” for £140. So, you can save £30, but you’ll lose high res main camera, the ultra wide lens is gone altogether. Here’s a detailed comparison of the three phones.
The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G will also be available in Germany from February 12. The price of the 64 GB model is €280 (and €300 for the 128 GB one). You can grab a Galaxy A12 from Samsung.com for €180.
