CES 2021: MSI equips its GF series notebooks with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs

There are several teams that MSI has presented today at its CES conference 2021, and in this case we have to talk about the equipment of the GF range with the MSI GF 75 Thin and GF 65 Thin , two computers that arrive with similar hardware but two different diagonals for users who require more or less portability.

On the one hand, we found the MSI GF 75 Thin , a team of 17 inch with a FullHD screen of 144 Hz, processor Intel Core i7 – 10750 H, up to 64 GB of RAM memory and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card 3060 of 6GB.

This hardware is accompanied by a battery of 51 Wh , a mechanical hard drive and an NVMe Gen3 drive, so that we can easily expand the internal storage with the type of drive we want.

On the other hand, theM: YES65 Thin is a computer with very similar characteristics, with a Intel Core i7 processor – 10750 H in its interior accompanied by an RTX 3060 And till 64 GB of RAM, but in this case we lose the possibility of mounting 2.5 ”drives to have two NVMe slots.

We have the same battery of 51 Wh and a weight of 1. 86 Kg, logically lower as it is a variant of 15. 6 inches with FullHD screen of 144 Hz , instead of 17. 3 inches, than in your case weighs 2.3Kg.

CES 2021: MSI GP76 and GP66 Leopard also get updated with new RTX 3070 and RTX 3060

Following up on MSI revamped models at CES 2021, the company has updated its laptops MSI GP 76 Leopard and GP 66 Leopard, player oriented. CES 2021: MSI updates its Creator 15 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs

Today another event of the CES framework 2021 took place in the that we have seen MSI laptops, which arrive with the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs 30 Series , as well as high-performance 10th generation Intel Core processors.

MSI introduces new laptops with GeForce RTX 3000 and WiFi 6E cards. These include Stealth 15M, GE76 Raider and GF65 Thin

This afternoon, as part of the virtual CES trade fair 2021, the Taiwanese brand MSI has prepared its own online event called MSIology: The Ultimate Shockwave. In line with previous leaks, we expected the presentation of the company’s largest laptop so far, the successor of the GE model 66 Raider, hence the design of MSI GE 76 Raider, featuring a limited special edition. Like the other announced MSI GP models 17 Leopard, MSI GP 67 Leopard, MSI Stealth 15 M, MSI GF 65 Thin, MSI GF 75 Thin and MSI Creator 15 – MSI GE laptop 76 Raider offers work on Intel Comet Lake-H processors and GeForce RTX series graphics cards 3000. The exception is however MSI Stealth 13 M, which will be supplemented with a chip from the Tiger Lake family.

During today’s MSIology: The Ultimate Shockwave event, MSI presented new laptops equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics 3000. Most of them also run on the latest Intel Comet Lake-H processors.

MSI GE 76 Raider

The event started with the presentation of the model MSI GE 76 Raider , equipped with 17 – inch IPS display with refresh rate 300 Hz. The model will be available in the maximum variant with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX chip 3080 and Intel Core i9 processors – 10980 HK. The design will also support the Resizable BAR technique, which allows you to improve performance in selected games, thanks to free access to graphics memory, which improves the transfer from the CPU to the GPU. The laptop also received LED edge illumination, working in the MSI Ambient Link environment, which can be integrated with LED solutions by Nanoleaf. What is nice is the support for the super-fast WiFi 6E network, so work in the 6 GHz range (exactly in the band from 5925 ) MHz to 7125 MHz).

As MSI GE 76 The Raider is basically an enlarged and improved version of the GE model 66, there is also a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet network card, an SD card reader and high-speed ports USB. The design also received speakers targeted at the user and a webcam with a still very rare resolution 1080 p. Another device presented was a laptop MSI GP 66 Leopard , which was announced as targeting not only players but also engineers. The design will appear in the version with the RTX graphics card 3060 and RTX 3070. This model comes with 15, 6 inch screen and Intel Core i7 processor – 10750 H. Larger model, MSI GP 67 Leopard is already a unit characterized by 17, 3-inch screen and Intel Core i7 processor- 10750 H. MSI made the Leopards thinner (GP 66 is 2.3 cm thick and the GP 76 measures 2.6 cm) and claims to be easily opened with one hand. Also the ports have been rearranged a bit: we will eventually get seven, including HDMI 2.0 and USB-C with DP1.4.

If you are looking for something even thinner, MSI suggests paying attention to 15 – inch model MSI Stealth 15 M . The design uses an Intel Core i7 processor – 11375 H and GeForce RTX mobile graphics 3060 Max-Q. The equipment is only 1.6 cm thick and weighs 1.7 kilograms. The specification also includes elements such as the screen refreshed with a frequency 144 Hz, RAM amount 16 GB and SSD with a capacity of 512 GB. Prices start from 1399 dollars. Models for players looking for cheaper solutions were also shown during the event. MSI GF 65 Thin will be available from 999 dollars and model MSI GF 75 Thin from 1299 . Both products will be equipped with Intel Core i7 – 10750 H and RTX 3060 as well as the screen 144 Hz. For professionals there is also a model MSI Creator 15 , which offers a 4K True Pixel screen whose colors cover 100% of Adobe RGB color space . Prices for this model start from 1899 dollars (at least RTX 3060, max RTX 3080 paired with i7 – 10870 H).

CES 2021: MSI unleashes new laptops powered by Nvidia RTX 30 series

Following on from last night’s announcement that Nvidia’s RTX 30 series is coming to laptops, MSI has today unveiled its latest gaming notebooks, powered by Intel and Nvidia.

As part of the MSIology event hosted today at CES 2021, the company exhibited its new range of laptops. There’s some familiar faces – including the Stealth and Raider series – but with all-new hardware. For now it seems MSI is keeping things with Intel on the CPU side, while Nvidia’s RTX 30 series chips are used on the GPU side.

First up we have the GE76 Raider and GE66 Raider systems. These are largely identical, save for the screen size – the former is a 17.3in while the latter is 15.6in, but both sport 4K panels. Under the hood, these laptops are powered by Intel’s i9-10980HK processor, while there will be a choice of GPUs up to the RTX 3080 Laptop. Memory is configurable up to 64GB thanks to two SODIMM slots, while there’s also two NVMe M.2 SSD slots.

Connectivity wise, these machines have the same I/O options, with 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C / DP, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A. WiFi 6E is provided by Intel’s AX210 chipset, with Killer E3100 2.5GbE on board. MSI is also continuing its partnership with SteelSeries with a per-key RGB keyboard, while both laptops make use of a 4-cell 99WHr battery.

Due to the difference of screen size, the GE76 Raider is the bigger of the two laptops, with dimensions of 397 (W) x 284 (D) x 26 (H) mm and a 2.9KG weight. The GE66 Raider measures in at 358 (W) x 267 (D) x 23.4 (H) mm and weighs 2.38 Kg.

MSI also showed off a GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat, featuring a very intriguing design – MSI says ‘The untold story and divine beasts are now engraved on the chassis of the GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat, which symbolizes the infinite power!’ The specs are the same as the regular GE76 Raider, but it certainly looks cool!

Next we come to the GS66 Stealth. This has proved a popular design over the years thanks to its sleek appearance despite the high-end specs. In fact MSI claims it is ‘perfect camouflage for business professionals who want to conceal their inner gamer’. This time around the machine is powered by the i9-10980H processor, while graphics are configurable up to RTX 3080 Laptop.

The screen measures 15.6in and there seems to be a choice of UHD or 1080p/300Hz panels, while memory is configurable up to 64GB. There’s also 2x NVMe M.2 slots, Killer E3100 2.5 GbE and Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210. USB connectivity meanwhile consists of 1 x Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C (support USB3.2 Gen2 / DP/ PD charging), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and 3 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports.

As for the battery, MSI claims this 99.9WHr is the world’s highest capacity battery for a laptop, and that is pretty impressive considering it measures 358.3 (W) x 248 (D) x 18.3-19.8 (H) mm and weighs 2.1KG.

We also got a look at the new GP76 Leopard and GP66 Leopard. Once more, the difference comes down to a 17.3in screen for the former and a 15.6in screen for the latter. In both cases, the panels are FHD, using ‘IPS-Level’ technology, with 144Hz refresh rate. Internally, Intel’s i7-10870H processor is used, while graphics provided by GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop.

We once more have up to 64GB DDR4 and 2x NVMe M.2 slots, but WiFi is reduced to ‘only’ WiFi 6 (not 6E) thanks to the use of Intel’s AX201 chipset. The on-board LAN port is also 1GbE, not 2.5 GbE. For ports, we find 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C/DP and 3 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A connectors. There’s still a per-key RGB keyboard from SteelSeries though.

In terms of the battery, both machines share the same 4-cell 65WHr unit. The GP76 Leopard measures 397 (W) x 284 (D) x 26 (H) mm and weighs 2.9KG, while the is GP66 is naturally smaller at 358 (W) x 267 (D) x 23.4 (H) mm, weighing 2.38KG.

MSI’s ultra-portable Stealth 15M also got a hefty upgrade. Using the Intel i7-11375H processor, graphics is now provided in the form of RTX 3060, which should be significantly faster than the previous-gen GTX 1660 Ti GPU. In a chassis measuring just 16.15mm thick – full dimensions are 358.3 (W) x 248 (D) x 16.15 (H) mm – this is mighty impressive. Weight is kept to just 1.7KG too.

Elsewhere, we can note the 15.6in FHD 144Hz IPS-Level display, up to 64GB DDR4 and 1x NVMe M.2 slot. Connectivity consists of 1x Thunderbolt 4 Type-C, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C/ DP, and 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. WiFi is provided by Intel’s AX201 chipset but there’s no LAN. Lastly, the battery is a 3-cell 52WHr unit.

Lastly, we also got to see the GF65 Thin. This is still a very slender chassis at 21.7mm thick, but it is beefed up a bit compared to the Stealth 15M, and accordingly the CPU is upgraded to Intel’s i7-10750H, while graphics remains with the RTX 3060 Laptop. The screen has the same 15.6in FHD 144Hz IPS-Level spec however.

There’s still support for up to 64GB of memory, but there’s now 2x NVMe M.2 slots. Gigabit LAN also returns, as does the WiFi 6 AX201 chipset. USB connectivity consists of 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C and 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. Dimensions of the GE65 Thin come in at 359 (W) x 254 (D) x 21.7 (H) mm, it weighs 1.86KG, and boasts a 3-cell 51WHr battery.

CES: Intel Mini PCs: Dozens of NUC 11 with Tiger Lake CPUs and one with GeForce GPU

Intel has launched the mini-PC generation parallel to the consumer electronics fair CES NUC 11 announced. For the first time, the models are based on 10 – nanometers -Processors in-house after the NUC – 10 -PCs exclusively with the 11 nm CPUs Comet Lake-U (Core i – 3200 U) published.

Dozens of different NUC are shared within three sub-categories – 11 – PCs on:

NUC 11 Performance (Panther Canyon): Mini PCs with Tiger Lake CPUs including an integrated Xe GPU for end customers NUC 11 Pro (Tiger Canyon): Mini PCs with Tiger Lake CPUs including integrated Xe GPU and vPro remote maintenance options for business customers NUC 11 Enthusiast ( Phantom Canyon): Slightly larger PCs with Tiger Lake CPUs and additional GeForce GPU for gamers Core i7 – 1165 G7 in top models Panther Canyon is the cheapest series in the typical palm-sized housing. Two and four cores are used in the form of the Core i3 – 1115 G4, Core i5 – 1115 G7 and Core i7 – 1165 G7. Also included are two SO-DIMMs for up to 56 GByte DDR4- 3200 – SDRAM, two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports – Intel does without Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 -, three times USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 GBit / s) Type A, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 instead of DP 1.2 as before.

Intel continues to offer options with 38 and 51 mm high housings – in the latter, in addition to an M.2 SSD, a 2.5-inch data carrier also fits. The third variant is new with 56 mm high housing, which comes with a wireless -Charger comes under the lid. For example, users can charge a smartphone by placing it on it.

The flat 38 – mm-NUCs can be identified by a K in the model number, for example NUC 11 PAKi7, the 51 – mm versions on an H (NUC 11 PAHi7) and the 56 – mm newbies in one Q (NUC 11 PAQi7). The Pro-NUCs Tiger Canyon can be configured with additional connections, and Thunderbolt 4 is included.

Gaming-NUC with Nvidia-GPU Phantom Canyon (NUC 11 Enthusiast) represents a spiritual successor to Hades Canyon: Both mini-PCs come in a wider case with an illuminated skull and are suitable for Full -HD gaming. At that time, Intel installed the Kaby Lake-G processor with a semi-custom Radeon graphics chip from AMD. Today Nvidia’s mid-range GPU GeForce RTX 2060 with 6 GB of GDDR6 memory is used – probably in good shape a firmly soldered chip like in notebooks. The GPU is getting on in years, but is still well suited for Full HD gaming. Intel always installs the four-core Core i7 in the NUC 11 Enthusiast – 1165 G7.

The NUC 10 enthusiast is something wider (or higher positioned) than the other models, but houses Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2060.

RISC-V Powered BeagleV Board Announced Via New Collaboration

The RISC-V CPU architecture is making progress across a plethora of devices. From soldering irons and watches to desktop computers, the open source RISC-V CPU looks set to make an impact in 2021. Seeed Studio and Beagleboard have today announced an official collaboration with StarFive, a leading RISC-V solutions provider. The focus of this announcement is the Beagle V, an affordable single board computer (SBC) which runs Linux and is powered by a dual core RISC-V.

Powering Beagle V is a dual core 64-bit U74 RISC-V CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM. From a CPU perspective Beagle V looks to be slightly faster than a Raspberry Pi 4, but looking at the StarFive JH7100 System on Chip (SoC) we can see a Tensilica-VP6 used in computer vision projects, an Nvidia Deep Learning Accelerator (NVDLA) used for artificial intelligence and finally a Neural Network Engine. All of these point towards a board that looks on paper to be quite the AI / machine learning powerhouse. Best of all Beagle V is a purely open source product, with both the hardware and the software offered under an open source licence.

At its heart, Beagle V is still an SBC and as such it has what we come to think as the “standard complement” of ports. With four USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Micro SD card and a single HDMI port, capable of 1080P 30fps. A 40 pin GPIO suggests compatibility with Raspberry Pi HATs, and a casual glance at the pinout shows that the standard digital I/O, I2C and SPI seem to be mapped correctly. Dual camera (CSI) and a single display connector (DSI) suggest that Beagle V may be compatible with the official Raspberry Pi camera and display. Wireless connectivity is provided via 2.4 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2. A shame that 5 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 are not present, but we can live without it. Power is provided via a USB-C port, and from the datasheet we can see that Beagle V requires 5V at 2A but a 3A supply would be a real benefit.

Starting from $119 for the 4GB model, or $149 for the 8GB, Beagle V is slightly more expensive than a Raspberry Pi 4 but for RISC-V and AI enthusiasts this is a small price to pay for a RISC-V machine of such power. With an anticipated early access release date of March, with larger availability from September 2021, Beagle V looks to be a worthy contender to the Nvidia Jetson for AI and machine learning projects. It may not be a direct competitor to the Raspberry Pi, but it will be interesting to put the two against one another to see both of their pros and cons.

New Razer Blade 15: Fresh hardware, faster display variants

Razer also uses the digital CES 2021 to bring its popular blade notebooks up to date. Both the Razer Blade 15 and the Razer Blade Pro 17 get the new GeForce RTX – 30 – graphics cards, faster displays and a further adapted housing.

The Razer Blade 15 continues to rely on Comet Lake H processors with a TDP of maximum 45 W. The basic model relies on the six-core Intel Core i7 – 10750 H, with the slightly more expensive Advanced On the other hand, an Intel Core i7 – 10875 H with eight processor cores is used. However, the RGB-backlit chroma keyboard is available on both models.

XMG updates NEO and PRO
